February 21st is our next Tele Tuesday event at Mt Hood Skibowl (5pm-9pm) at the A-frame (Outback Lodge).

There will be a Avalanche Beacon Demo from 6pm-8pm. With the help of Timberline Mountain Guides and Mountain Savvy we will have some of the newest beacons from BCA, Ortovox, and Pieps to try out. The cost is $10 and the proceeds will directly benefit the Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center. The other big event will be an XCD freeski Contest. The twist on our Tele Tuesday freeski competition is going to be sending competitors up on Cross Country Downhill equipment. Competitors can dust off their old gear to use, or we can provide some of the newest XCD skis/boots/bindings offered up from Fischer, Madshus, Rossignol, Garmont, and Voile. The judging point system will include offsets for leather or plastic boots, number of buckles, and waist width of ski. If you can make stylish turns down a moderately steep run with finesse on light gear, this is the event for you. The event starts at 7:15 and registration is 5 PM- 6:30 PM. The entrance fee is $15 with your own gear, or $25 with skis provided by the Mountain Shop. Again the proceeds go to the NW Weather and Avalanche Center. We will have Telemark ski lessons provided by Wyeast Nordic for $20. Registration is from 5PM – 6:30PM and the clinic goes from 7 PM-8:30PM. The Mountain Shop will provide the latest Telemark and Alpine Touring demosfor $10 from 5 PM-9 PM.The Snowriders will be on hand in the Outback Lodge raising funds by offing Terminal Gravity IPA for $3 a pint from 5 PM-9 PM.
