What in the world is the Craggin’ Classic?!

Glad you asked. The Craggin’ Classic is an annual climbing festival held at Smith Rock and hosted by the American Alpine Club and C.A.M.P. Running October 10th through 12th, the weekend is chalk full of awesome things!

Start the weekend Friday evening with a Climber’s Party at Red Point Climbing Supply. You’ll be able to check out their new beer and coffee taps! Climbing store with beer on tap? Yup, you read that right!

Saturday you’ll have your choice of activities ranging from a variety of clinics, the Crushfest Climbing Competition, and demos. What ever you may choose, you can start the day with a tasty breakfast cooked up by Solid Rock Climber’s for Christ. Top off your epic day with an awesome evening at The Terrebonne Depot. There you’ll find a plethora of food, vendors, beer, and Reel Rock 9!

In the mood to do a good deed? Perfect! Sunday we’ll be giving back to the crag that has given us so much with a stewardship project. Remember the AAC motto, “Together we are stronger.” This definitely applies here. Gather your friends and hep make a tangible, lasting difference for all those who visit and climb at Smith Rock State Park.
