We had a great time at this year’s Teton Gravity Research’s Portland Premier. As always, we had our booth set out and talked to so many great people. The Portland skiing community includes, in our unbiased opinion, some of the greatest people in the city. The turnout for both showings was phenomenal, and the crowd was super energetic and enthusiastic about the film.
We do so enjoy chatting with everyone who swings by our booth, we are gear junkies after all, and this year we brought a few new things to the show. We hope we sparked some interest, but we also know that, though you might like talking to us too, you love getting free stuff. That’s why this year we gave out more swag than ever. Our raffle prizes totaled over $1000 and included gloves, gift certificates, and our grand prize: Line Prophet 130 skis with Rossignol bindings. Congratulations to all of our winners!
A highlight of the evening was when one of regular customers, Hector, was chosen as one of the finalists for a new Atomic ski package and a complete TNF ski outfit. To choose from the four finalists on stage the gang from TGR had a Worm-Off. That’s right, each finalist had to do The Worm across the stage. Needless to say, it was hillarious, as should be evident from the picture where you can see the MC doubled over laughing. Unfortunately, Hector didn’t win, but much respect for the winner!
Don’t forget to buy a copy of this year’s TGR film “One for the Road,” it’s a great flick. Also, please join us for the Warren Miller films that hit Portland 10/28 @ the Schnitzer and 10/30 back @ the Bagdad. It’s sure to be fun, we’re giving out even more swag, and tickets are available through us for $20/ea (no service charges and the best seats in the house).
