Thanksgiving is a time for appreciating everything that we have: family, friends, good food to eat, beautiful mountains to play in, and so much more. Thus, it seems more than a little ironic that this day of thanks is followed immediately by a bargain hunting fueled shopping frenzy, that in recent years has been happening earlier and earlier.
Black Friday is the biggest retail day of the year.
While we at the Mountain Shop can appreciate a good deal as much as the next person, we also want to focus on what the holiday season really means.
That is partly why when Small Business Saturday was founded in 2010, we immediately got on board. The point of Small Business Saturday is to help counteract the big business feel of Black Friday, by encouraging people to shop local and spend Thanksgiving with their families.
So, help us to foster local community and support all the small businesses that make Portland so great!
In honor of Small Business Saturday tomorrow, we are offering some special deals:
- Beer and Bootfit – Enjoy an ice cold Base Camp beer while you get fit for boots.
- 30% off all Marmot and Black Diamond clothing
- 20% of skis when you buy boots and bindings
- Up to 70% off select items throughout the store
