Join us for a night of history, beta, and stories about rock climbing, and Bouldering around Portland, Mount Hood, and the Gorge and the launch of the new 2018 Portland climbing guidebook. The presentation will focus 80% on sport and trad routes and 20% on bouldering. It is focused mainly on the Portland and Northwest Oregon region.
The presentation will also feature rare and historic photos of first ascents and historical climbing photos dating back to the 1940s as well as video.
Rob Holzman has authored and co-authored over 12 climbing and Bouldering guidebooks since he started climbing in the late 1980s. This new Portland guidebook and this slideshow presentation focus on the unique climbing history in Northwest Oregon and beta on the amazing areas within a day drive of the Portland metro.
This is the official release of the color sport and trad guide to Portland, Mt Hood and the Gorge featuring many unknown and undocumented crags. The presentation will also focus on beta to unknown and newer "off-the-radar crags" around Portland that have been developed in recent years.
