Tune in this Wednesday, June 10th at 5:30 pm as we chat with three badass ladies of the PNW in the lab this week. We’ve got some epic ladies lined up to steal the show.
Theresa Silveyra is both a music teacher and outdoor enthusiast based in Portland, OR whose outdoor passions focus mainly on mountaineering and trail-running. Adventures where these two activities are combined tend to be her favorite. Theresa also enjoys volunteering as an ambassador for the PNW Outdoor Women group and creating opportunities for womxn to connect and adventure outdoors together.
Kimber Cross is a kindergarten teacher and adaptive athlete based out of Tacoma, WA. She is also a climb leader for The Mountaineers, a volunteer based organization that provides climbing courses in rock, glacier, and ice. Kimber has been an avid alpinist since 2015, and over the past two years, she has focused on ice climbing using a custom prosthetic Petzl ice tool, as she was born without fingers on her right hand. A short film is coming out later this year featuring her ice climbing journey!
Syd Long is an Emergency Department and Trauma RN and an ultra endurance trail runner based out of Portland, OR. She generally prefers self-supported style epic adventures but is stoked to be training for a 100 mile race later this summer! She is also the Race Director of Three Corner Rock 50K, a volunteer-run ultramarathon held on the PCT. Syd gets fiercely excited about supporting and empowering runners who take part in this special event. She and her 10-year old son Axel are both ambassadors for the Mountain Shop and enjoy biking, hiking, and backpacking together.
These ladies are excited to share their epics, endeavors, adventure projects, and more. From trail running to ice climbing, backcountry skiing to mountain biking, mountaineering to trad climbing, we’ve got it all covered among these badass ladies!
