Last Ascents: The Changing Face of Glaciers and Mountaineering

December 13 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Kali_Photo_2

As climate change impacts glaciers worldwide, we are facing the loss of not only some of nature’s most dramatic environments, but the pathways up the most iconic peaks. While impacts from climate change are far-reaching, how do we understand it and address it as resource dependent, environmentally conscious, and outdoor adventure focused Northwesterners? We’ll take a look at climate change in Northwestern alpine environments and the stories this change writes both for environment and for mountain adventure.

Kali Abel is a glaciologist, professor, science writer, and ultra adventurer. She has traveled the world and seen firsthand the effects of climate change. Come spend an evening as she presents, “Last Ascents,” and learn ways in which you too can get involved in making a difference in the fight against climate change!
