Zero to 1,200: The Story of My First Year Bikepacking

April 25 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

The second of the new Stories Beyond Base Camp Speaker Series brought to you in partnership by Mountain Shop and Base Camp Brewing.

Are you new to bikepacking and want to tackle your first bikepacking adventure? Maybe you’ve done some shorter trips with your friends and are ready to tackle your first big trip, where do you start? Okay, so you’ve done a few big trips before, want to know how you can ride one every 4 weeks? How much time off do you need to ride your bike 185 miles, or 285 miles??

Whether you’re brand new to bikepacking, or a seasoned Tour Divide veteran, join us at Base Camp Brewery for the second presentation in our new series “Stories Beyond Basecamp”.

Aspiring Tour Divide Racer, Chase Medina, will share his dream of racing the longest mountain bike trail in the world and how he started training for such a race with no bikepacking experience whatsoever. Last year Chase logged over 1,200 miles of bikepacking all over Oregon’s most beautiful terrain and he’s got some great info to share for those of us who want to get outside and ride more, but have limited time. Come have a beer, sit back, and relax while Chase shares his experiences, skills, bike setup, gear selection, and valuable lessons learned on his first year bikepacking.
