Last spring, we had the pleasure of sponsoring Miriam Caron and Lizzie Wenger's big cascade adventure. Their trip route was inspired by the late Fred Beckey, an American rock climber who completed many of the first ascents in our Pacific Northwest mountains. Except on this trip, it would just be two LGBTQ+ women and and a couple of their LGBT+ femme friends aiming to prove to Beckey and the world that big mountain climbing isn't just for cis white men. In 23 days, Miriam and Lizzie climbed all of the Cascade's major peaks, starting with Middle Sister down in Bend and finishing on Mt. Shuksan up in the North Cascades
Join us on Friday, December 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to hear from the adventurers themselves. You'll learn about who they are, how their plans played out, and answer questions from other eager adventurers.
