Wednesday November 28th, join the Mountain Shop and Northwest Avalanche Center for a FREE avalanche awareness clinic! Seating is limited so arrive early, or be stoked to stand.
The course is expected to:
Introduce and explain to students where and why avalanches occur.
Describe who gets caught and why.
Provide a basic approach to staying safe in the backcountry. This course targets the young and unaware backcountry traveler, and introduces the recognition of avalanche danger and how to reduce the risk.
Happy Hour will being at 6:30pm with the presentation starting shortly after. Bring the family, and learn about risk assessment and avy safety together!
